Howdy, peeps. Cody back at ya again with part 2 in our Crush This Year series that’s all about hacking positivity.

But first, make sure you’ve read Crush This Year Part 1: Killing Fear and Failure where we talked about how to conquer and overcome fear. For today’s lesson, I want to transition a bit to spend a moment to give you some tips for staying positive.

So let’s get this party started…

Positivity Is in You

Pushing all the Saturday Night Live jokes aside, daily affirmations are a great way to pump yourself up each day and keep you motivated.

What is an affirmation, you ask?

An affirmation is a statement asserting the existence or truth of something.

But I just want you to think of it as a short motivational phrase that keeps you focused and excited to be doing whatever it is you’re doing each day.

I’m going to show you exactly how to create some good daily affirmations, but it is extremely important that you keep in mind some factors so that they’re effective. Specifically…

Affirmations must be:

1.     Positive.
2.     Present tense.

Dog Gone It: I’m a Worthy Human Being

Now, I want you to close your eyes for a second… Do this exercise with me and visualize the following (okay well, you will have to read each sentence and then close your eyes, but you know what I mean):

I am a successful real estate investor.

I enjoy learning and perfecting my craft.

I live financially free and I enjoy lasting relationships with my friends and my family.

I am capable of building a successful investing business and all of my friends and family commend me for my successes.

positiveYou should read your affirmations in the morning and before expected stressful situations. When you read these affirmations, take 10 to 15 seconds to close your eyes and picture them as if they already happened. Doing this makes an imprint on your mind and the affirmations will become your reality.

To help you develop your own affirmations, let’s look at three questions you can ask yourself:

Question #1:

What intrigues you about becoming a real estate investor?

Question #2:

What is the most important benefit you’re going to receive from becoming a successful real estate investor?

Question #3:

What specific monthly goals would you like to achieve from your new business?

Now let’s look at some answers. For example, here are some of mine…

Question: What intrigues you about becoming a real estate investor?

Answer: My value is created by me and me alone. I love making a lot of money with my mind and I’m very good at it. I solve problems, create solutions, and I get paid very well for it.

Question: What is the most important benefit you’re going to receive from becoming a successful real estate investor?

Answer: I love my real estate business as it gives me complete control over my future.

Or, how about this…

Here’s an affirmation created by answering these 3 questions:

Real estate is the only business model where I can make a ton of cash without needing any money or credit to get started. Through creative methods I will flip two houses in the next six months and add $25,000 to my liquid net worth.

Here’s one more…

My knowledge in real estate affords me a lifestyle of freedom and excitement. I wholesale one house a month and I use the proceeds to invest in long-term rentals. My retirement will be paid for through owning real estate.

Well, I hope I gave you guys some positive vibes to feed off of. Stay tuned for the next 2 lessons in this series, Crush This Year Part 3: Embracing Challenges and Crush This Year Part 4: How I Set My Goals.

Until next time then…

Yours Truly,

Cody
