Stop Being a Victim
I’ve got some tough love to dish out today, friends…
Are you hungry? Not for food, people, I mean are you hungry for success?
Inside a few percent of the population is a hunger that is so strong it becomes unbearable for them to do anything else other than feed it. It takes over their soul and drives them toward success. It’s what separates the good from the great.
Does that describe you? Are you that hungry?
Someone told me “congratulations” recently. I told them there is nothing to congratulate me over. I woke up today with the same desire, focus and attitude that I had 11 years ago when I was dead broke and living with my parents. (Truth.)
Forget accolades… forget what others think… forget what little amount of success I’ve experienced so far. I am nowhere near reaching my goals and will never become complacent, tired or deterred. I’m still hungry.
But I stay humble because I know that at the end of the day, all the material stuff in the world is meaningless. I own nothing. Everything I have is just borrowed until I die. The houses, jewelry, cars… all of it brings ZERO happiness unless I give those items a meaning.
I want a legacy. I want to be an influencer. I want to be happy. And I’ve found that once you have the ability to buy anything in the world you want… real happiness actually comes from the relationships and experiences we enjoy with others.
And trust me, no one wants to hang out with a pompous rich jerk – so stay humble on your way up to the top and once you get there.
But lemme tell ya… I’m so sick of people complaining all the time about their current situation and all the reasons “life” hasn’t been fair to them. Here is a reality check that you need to hear. You may not like it, but it’s the truth.
We all have the same problems. We all have the same self-limiting beliefs. We all have the same obstacles in the way of becoming successful.
STOP being a victim. Channel your anger. Harness it and allow it to drive you toward your goals. PROVE it to the world… your friends… your family… and yourself that you do have greatness inside you and that you CAN DO IT.
At times, of course life’s not fair. It can be rough. There can be injustice. There can be really tough times and periods where it seems impossible that things will ever get better.
And it’s in these moments that you have a choice.
You can choose to get knocked down and stay down. Cry, whine and complain about your situation.
You can bounce back. Get right back up, take back control and do something about your situation.
Look, I’ve dealt with some really crappy situations that, in the moment, I didn’t even know if I had the energy or courage to get back up… BUT I DID.
Something deep inside me… a hope, a belief, a desire… nagged at me until I finally woke up on the right side of the bed and stepped right into my fears and dealt with those difficult situations.
And you know what… I always figured out a way to survive. A way to thrive. A way to grow.
And you will too. Because real champions have a bounce-back spirit!
Maybe you’ll want to borrow my mantra as your own as you dust yourself off, learn, grow and get back in it: “I’ve learned so much from my mistakes that I’m thinking about making a few more!”
Here’s to being hungry,
